Celebration of World Kidney Day :

India Renal Foundation

Kidney failure is a disease that is fast assuming alarming proportions. However, healthcare spending on the disease is not keeping pace. This especially is true in developing countries, where patients do not have access to quality renal care, mainly due to lack of infrastructure, lack of awareness about the disease and methods of prevention and financial constraints.

The answer to this burgeoning problem is in approaching the area of renal diseases more scientifically and in a more organised manner by mobilising public awareness in favour of this disease. Such efforts also need to be backed by infrastructure upgradation, training and education, research as well as efforts to coordinate kidney donations.

Indian Renal Foundation endeavours to participate in this environment and be an agent of change.

Indian Renal Foundation wants to contribute to all these areas and support kidney failure patients to live a longer and better life.

India Renal Foundation (IRF) is a voluntary not-for-profit health organisation working for prevention, treatment, rehabilitation, education and research in the area of kidney diseases functioning under the leadership of Shri Chinubhai R. Shah who is the chairman of the foundation. India Renal Foundation is registered under section 25 of Companies act. IRF has four chapters functioning at Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Surat and Rajkot and have prominent citizens as advisory committee members at all chapters.

IRF is working in Gujarat for last more than 7 years.

Why IRF ???

Where are kidneys in the human body ?

80 % of persons asked from a group of health conscious – regular walking and undertaking other forms of exercise answered : Don’t know !!!!!!!!!

And the journey of IRF started……………
