We have started donation of a dialyser and tubing to patients every month. The process is simple. The patient has to fill up a form, which is put before the Save A Life committee which meets every three months. If approved, the patient is intimated about the donation. The approval is valid for three months. Generally once if the patient is selected he is not withdrawn from the approval list.

In India, kidney failure treatment is very costly. Secondly, and most important, the patient has to pay for himself. This puts an enormous and perennial economic burden on the patient to sustain himself on treatment.

Save a Life is IRF's endeavor to directly help kidney failure patients by sponsoring their treatment.

Selection of the neediest of the needy patients is done from selected dialysis centers/hospitals . Every patient is scrutinised on criteria like age, general health, number of dependents, earning capacity, eligibility of transplant, and so on.

Local committees consisting of social workers and well-known personalities scrutinize the applications. Care has been taken while deciding criteria so as to give every patient an equal chance of getting the sponsorship.
