I have been on haemodialysis for last 12 years and associated with the India Renal Foundation since the inception of Rajkot chapter. I work part-time and do some other activities to keep myself busy. Programmes done by IRF under ‘Prerana’ are really helping us live a better life. I also get financial assistance for my treatment from IRF . At the age of 18, I suddenly came to know that my kidney function is not normal and I would require dialysis. I was on dialysis two times weekly. A gift of Cadaver Kidney changed my life but for a very short time. I lost the transplanted kidney and had to go back on dialysis. I was very down emotionally. During that period I received another kidney transplant but I was in need of financial support.

India Renal Foundation has been providing financial assistance to needy patients under ‘Save a Life’ programme for haemodialysis treatment and post transplant medication since 2002. Recently organisation also supported a patient for kidney transplant operation.
